Who knows some great slide players?
Published: 10:05 AM GMT+01, Friday, 16 May 2008
I'm getting into some slide guitar at the moment, in particular Kelly Joe Phelps (who's taken down his videos from YouTube. Shame).
Can anyone point me to more slide guitar that I should check out?

A wide range of slide guitarists below - something to suit all tastes - my brother, as you can see, is a little of an obsessive when it comes to guitar!!!!
Eric Sardinas; he does quite a lot of crossover shit too Keni Lee Burgess, who used to just teach, but he's released an album recently, I think George Thoroughgood (& the Destroyers) Mississippi Fred McDowell, Robert Johnson, Willie Newburn, Earl Hooker, Tampa Red; also Sleepy John Estes used to play slide from time to time. And pllayers who introduced electric slide guitar, like Elmore James (although I'm certain he knew only one melodic line) and to a lesser extent Muddy Waters Ry Cooder, who plays many styles of slide guitar and is a bit of a virtuoso Well, variety is the spice of lifeleft by Fiona . How about giving Blind Lemon Pie a listen? His slide is always stunning and maybe you could give Stump Lung Eli a good listening...
